How to Get Rid of Scars

Scarring is a natural process of the body to heal after an injury like a burn, cut or surgery. There are many reasons that cause a scar on the skin on any part of the body. Natural remedies for scars:


Cucumber mixed with beaten egg can make skin soft hence making it easy to get rid of hard surface cells causing scars.


Lemon juice is considered to be the best alpha hydroxyl agent with vitamin C that remove the scars  by replacing the dead skin cells from the newly grown  ones. It acts a bleaching agent and lighten those scars in a great way. Squeeze out juice of the lemon and apply over your scar with the help of a cotton ball. Rub it gently over the scar. Leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse off.


Honey is another natural healer that lightens the scars. It is also a good moisturizer and can be taken orally for the treatment of wound. Honey should mixed with flour or baking soda and use to scrub the area with the scar.

Aloe Vera gel:

Aloe Vera has anti inflammatory properties. It is also a good source of vitamin E that is beneficial for the skin. Gels containing aloe Vera extracts can also used to reduce these scars. Pulp directly taken from the Aloe Vera leaf is also useful for the damaged skin to help reduce any skin irritation.

Natural oils:

Olive oil and tea tree oil have antioxidant and antibacterial properties that can be used to remove the scars to fade gradually. These oils benefit to reduce the scars from surgery. Massage oil from your fingertips to affected areas. Wipe off clean after 10 minutes.


Creams and ointments containing alpha hydroxy agents can be applied on scars. A dermatologist’s consultation is necessary before using these medicines.

Chemical peels:

A chemical is used in this method to smoothen out the top layer of skin by rubbing the skin thus removing any scars.  This process can make you take several visits to your consultant unless a desired result is achieved.

Laser treatment:

In case of deep scars due to any cut or surgery, laser treatment can help reduce its intensity and flatten the skin.


In order to permanently get rid of scar you should go for having injections and fillers that flatten tough scars that would probably require extreme process of healing.
