Whiteheads are basically white small bumps on your body. They are caused when the skin’s natural oil or other impurities get trapped under the skin thus blocking the pores. The areas prone to whiteheads are face, neck, chest and back. You can get them particularly on nose, forehead, and cheeks or around chin area. They are common to people with oily skin. Don’t poke, squeeze, pinch or press your whiteheads with your nails and fingers as it spreads infection and turn it into a deep scarring pimple.
Following are the tips to make you get rid of whiteheads from your face or other body parts:
1. Washing and Cleansing:
Make a ritual of washing your face with a mild and gentle facial cleanser twice a day. Concentrate more on the area with whiteheads and do gentle scrubbing while washing.
Exfoliating once a week help in removing dead cells from your face and prevents from pores to get clogged. Oatmeal and almond can be grinded into a fine powder and can be mixed with water to form a gentle scrub for your skin.
Steam your face by leaning over a hot bowl or tub of water and covering your head with a towel from 10 minutes. This method will loosen the dirt or oils clogged in the pores. After steaming your face just pop the whitehead out of the skin. Don’t push too hard as it will inflame the skin.
Once you have steamed your face, close all your pores back by applying ice or a clay mask.
4. Baking Soda:
Baking soda is a great and quick remedy to remove whiteheads. Make a paste of baking soda and water and apply it to the area with white heads. Do gentle rotations. Rinse off properly.
5. Lemon and Tomato:
Rubbing lemon juice on your face for few minutes will open the pores and remove whiteheads.
Tomatoes make you to eradicate whiteheads by drying them up. It is a natural antiseptic.
Dip cotton ball into apple cider vinegar and rub it on the white heads. Its acidic nature willhelp clean the impurities clogged inside the pores.
Honey is a natural healer. It has antibacterial properties. Apply honey with your finger tips on the problem areas with white heads and leave for 15 minutes. Rinse off with water.
8. Tea tree oil:
Tea tree oil has antibacterial properties. Dip a cotton ball in the oil and dab the area with white heads or acne with it. This remedy can be used a couple of times a day.
9. Aloe Vera:
Aloe Vera heals the skin and reduces the swelling of acne. It helps to get rid of whiteheads. Aloe Vera gel can be bought from store or a fresh pulp can be used from the leaf of the plant directly and apply it on your affected areas.
Do not use cosmetics that are oil based.
If you have a severe condition of acne or whiteheads, consult a dermatologist who may prescribe you medication that can be taken orally or applied topically.
Topical creams like Benzoyl Peroxide kills the bacteria causing whiteheads and open the pores.
Hydration is very important to keep the skin healthy. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water daily to flush away toxins from your body. This will prevent any acne or pimple problem.
