Number 10 : Alastair Cook
England has been doing well in its recent years and have no given there lead batsmen position to a man named Alastair Cook. Alastair is known for his calm and precise undertone when it comes to batting. He remains cool and collected on the pitch and does not seem to get flustered at all. This was evident in the recent series Sri Lanka had with England, and how Alastair executed his role efficiently, scoring a century as well! He plays the hook shot and cut short, with a finesse that is somewhat rare in todays batsmen!
Number 9: Younis Khan
As an experienced and veteran batsman, Younis Khan has played many marvellous knocks across the years for Pakistan. His most recent series against South Africa didn’t fair too well, but that doesn’t mean that Younis Khan has no more left to give. He is one of the more calm players on a batting lineup that is considered mostly explosive, with the likes of Shahid Afridi and the Akmal brothers!
Number 8: Michael Clarke
Michael Clarke will have his work cut for him with the recent retirement of teammate Michael Hussey. Clark is the captain of the Australian side and he is in most cases the probable factor in making a big total for his team. Jonathon Trott is the backbone of these innings, as he comes into the middle order, not to quickly burst up their score, but to make sure that they have a steady flow of runs late into the innings. Jonathon Trott hence has a great average and strike rate that proves him to be one of England’s greatest cricketing assetts.
Number 6: Gautam Gambhir
Gautam Gambhir has been opening for the Indian side for quite a few years now alongside Virender Sehwag. Sehwag who is explosive and likes to get early runs is completely the opposite of Gautam Gambhir who chooses to play a more refined and artistic innings. Making sure that he gets his team to a good point by the 25th over. However that doesn’t mean that Gautam Gambhir can’t play an aggressive innings when required to!

In the recent series with Pakistan, even though India lost, M.S Dhoni was the thorn in Pakistan’s side!
Number 4: Shane Watson
What makes Shane Watson a great asset to the Australian side is that his bowling seems to be on par with his great batting abilities. Shane Watson offers a very explosive set of batting skills, usually racking up large numbers of runs early in the innings to set his team into a comfortable position by the 20th over. His heroics in the 2012 T20 World Cup, lead his team to the finals, and ever since then he has been hammering his way up the batting order on Australian side!
Number 3: Virat Kohli
India’s up and coming cricketing superstar, Virat Kohli has proven that the youth is now able to replace the veterans. Virat Kohli places at Rahul Dravid’s spot and is a great replacement to say the least. He boasts a strong average and strike rate and is a favorite as the most dangerous batsmen for 2013!
Number 2: Kumar Sangakkara
No introduction is needed for this great batsman, as Sri Lanka’s captain Kumar Sangakkara has proven on many occasions that he is a force to be reckoned with! Leading his side to countless victories Kumar is the most dangerous batsmen on Sri Lanka’s side! Along with his great batting skills, Kumar has proven to be the best wicket keeper Sri Lanka has ever seen!
Number 1: Hashim Amla
Hashim Amla has been the core to South Africa’s batting side for both test matches and ODI’s. He is the only person after Ricky Ponting to be the number 1 batsman for ODI’s and test matches. He proved his worth yet again in the test series against Pakistan which South Africa won with no contest whatsoever! His arsenal of shots has proven that he is capable of holding the number 1 spot on the list of Top 10 best cricket batsmen of 2013!
